Our Roots

Meet Coach Smith

Hi, I'm Coach Smith—educator mentor, and founder Legacy of Light Mentoring. For over ten years, I've had the honor of teaching in classrooms across New York City, Dekalb County, and Gwinnett County, working primarily with with students in grades six through twelve. Along the way, I've had countless conversations with teen girls navigating identity, friendships, family, and the pressure to figure it all out—and I saw firsthand how much they needed a space built just for them.

That experience is what led me to create Legacy of Light Mentoring. This isn't just a program—it's a sisterhood built on the belief that every girl deserves the tools, community, and confidence to lead her own life.

When I'm not teaching or mentoring, you'll find me being a wife and mom, soaking up every moment with my family—because the same love and intention I pour into my girls at Legacy of Light is the same love I bring home.
